TPACK is a concept of bringing new technology that students are famililar with into teaching and combine it with pedagogy and content.

If you can bring technologies into teaching in a positive way as a teacher, then the students will be more engaged, more motivated and therefore perform better at school. Is this true for every single student? I have my doubts.

If a teacher can bring technologies into the classroom to help the students to understand the content or to make the content easier for students to understand, students will be motivated to learn. However what happens outside of the school when there is no teacher to help students, no any other person to make the content easier for them, what can the students who are so used to having everything simplified for them?

Another concern of mine is that if teachers all use mobiles / internet to teach the students and what happens when everything become virtual? Is a virtual classroom what we really want for our kids? If schools are becoming virtual, what happens to our future generations? Is virtual life what we really want for them?

It is very essential that every student teacher is able to use powerpoint since it is very useful and powerful tool for presenting information. I think this should be what a IT course about, such as teaching you to use new and essential teaching softwares, in stead of forcing us to “advertising ourselves” and “express our opinions in public”, obviously not many people are fans of this.

I strongly suggest that who ever came up with this assignment requirement should reconsider for the studetns next term. NOT EVERYONE LOVES TO ADVERTISE THEMSELVES LIKE THIS!

If wiki is considered useful for teachers then it will be good to make us(student teachers) to work with it, but not blogging. certainly forums would be helpful for students to discuss any questions they have or solutions to their group assignment, but they also can easily copy each other’s answers without learning anything. I don’t see how wiki can be useful between students and teachers unless we are going for a field trip such as camping.

Being a teacher is very different from being a student, but being a student teacher is a completely different story. Maybe students and teachers are not so different after all. Because everyone was/is a student, it does not matter what your age is, and you don’t reallly stop learning. People often learn new things without realising it, such as I have learnt a new technique to reverse my car to the garage so that I can do it in 2attempts, instead of 4 or 5 attempts!! I did not realise this new technique I did was really useful until I tried to get my car out of the garage today. So I think when we are doing something new, we are learning. Learning is not so compicated after all, and help students to learn themselves may make my teaching easier for them.
